Welcome to Elite Control Tactics! This is an educational space in Livonia, Michigan, that is open to all police and federal agents in the Midwest. Our mission is to teach students control tactics for real-life situations to keep themselves and the public safe. We teach effective, simple techniques that are retainable for everyone. Our School
We make sure to provide a training environment that is conducive to learning. This is a calm, upbeat atmosphere where everyone is treated equally. Everyone is treated with respect without building any type of hierarchy. All we care about is helping as many police officers and federal agents to gain skills that will help keep everyone safe. Our training allows men and women of all different sizes to use tactics that produce maximum effectiveness with the least amount of effort necessary.
Our History
Chris Holmes opened our doors in 2026 with years of combat training experience and a passion for helping better the community. He’s been studying simple self-defense for 47 years – and throughout that time – has heard about officers struggling with control tactics in dangerous situations. He began training with some officers and saw how he could be a source of good. With all the stories and negativity toward police officers, he wanted to provide a space to help officers learn hand-to-hand combat, which keeps them and the public safe. Safety is everything. We know officers sometimes get a bad rap, and we want to show the human side to what they go through and make them as equipped as possible to be a beneficial pillar for their community.

Elite Control Tactics Officer Training
Our training course is centered on using different techniques to end a conflict quickly, smoothly, and as safely as possible for all involved parties. We emphasize control and leverage in all situations. Using the ground as your best friend is a big focus, as it can best serve to defuse the situation.
In all our self-defense strategies, we want to make sure that safety is priority number one. We teach officers and agents how to control a person without using any punching or choking. They aren’t necessary and aren’t used in our gym.
Our course has three different levels. Each one represents a different skillset the students have learned that they can equip themselves with.
